Pocket Exhibitions are small, mobile special exhibitions that offer fascinating insights into the future GeoForum. They bring geoscience research at LMU and the SNSB to life, allowing visitors to experience it firsthand. Specific research projects and the scientists behind them are introduced.
This Pocket Exhibition focuses on a new type of large-scale instrument capable of measuring the Earth’s rotational speed and the position of its axis of rotation with unprecedented precision. With ROMY, geophysicist Heiner Igel and his team will be able to measure ground movements that were previously impossible to detect.
