As part of a research cooperation visit, Prof. Dr. Matthias Garschagen and Dr. Deepal Doshi were invited to deliver a talk at the Melbourne Climate Futures Seminar Series on 09 October 2025.

As part of a research cooperation visit, Prof. Dr. Matthias Garschagen, Chair in Human Geography and Human-Environment Relations, and Dr. Deepal Doshi, postdoctoral researcher, were invited to deliver a talk at the Melbourne Climate Futures Seminar Series on 09 October 2025.

The talk was titled “Advancing Urban Climate Change Adaptation” and presented findings from global evidence synthesis as well as in-depth case studies from across the globe on questions of adaptation progress in cities, which solutions work and how can the deep and transformative changes that are often needed in cities be negotiated and governed across different actors.

The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Pia Treichel, from IIED and University of Melbourne. The seminar was a part of a three-day research cooperation visit, including meetings with scientists from RMIT’s Center for Urban Research (where Prof. Garschagen holds a Honorary Professorship), La Trobe University and University of Melbourne.
