LMU on the ground in Latin America

7 Apr 2026

LMU visited Chile and Brazil as part of a delegation trip.

Dr Anja Hallacker, Director of the LMU International Office, represented LMU as part of the delegation organised by the Bavarian Centre for Latin American Studies (BAYLAT), which visited Chile and Brazil over the past few days. During the visit, she engaged with prospective students and partners in Santiago, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília.

Participation in education fairs provided an opportunity to connect with students and present LMU as a place to study. The program further included institutional visits and exchanges with partner universities.

The delegation was received, among others, by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Discussions on internationalisation strategies and shared perspectives opened up concrete avenues for expanding cooperation.

Such encounters strengthen existing networks, promote knowledge transfer, and provide new impulses for joint research and teaching projects.
