The GIST Hub — a joint platform of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) — brings together researchers working on innovation and governance for sustainability transitions from Chile and Germany.
Currently, we are looking for a Fellow to join the GIST Hub for a research stay at UC, Chile in 2026. Early-career researchers (PhD candidates close to finishing, postdocs) are particularly encouraged to apply; applications from professors and other senior researchers are equally welcome.

Start: In 2026
Duration: Minimum 6 weeks – maximum 3 months
Host location(s): Santiago, Chile
Costs covered: Flight to Santiago de Chile / monthly stipend to cover living costs during the stay
During and following the fellowship stay, Fellows are expected to:

Complete applications must include:
1. A motivation letter, including a Gantt chart outlining the planned activities and timeline for the stay.
2. A Letter of Invitation (LoI) from the partner institution confirming willingness to host the Fellow.
