In July 2026, the GIST Hub network gathered in Munich for its first international conference, dedicating two days to research, innovation and collaboration. Researchers from UC Chile and LMU took the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue and drive forward joint projects.
Through presentations, keynote speeches and interactive formats such as the Marketplace sessions, current challenges were discussed, ranging from climate governance and sustainable innovation networks to water security and critical raw materials. The conference provided a platform to link theoretical approaches with practical solutions and to develop new ideas for joint research.
Alongside the professional exchange, excursions to the Deutsches Museum and Munich’s Werksviertel provided insights into scientific and urban transformation processes. Personal exchanges in a relaxed atmosphere rounded off the event. The conference strengthened international collaboration within the GIST Hub and demonstrated once again how trusting partnerships pave the way for sustainable solutions.
