I obtained my doctoral degree in particle physics in May 2025 from the Technical University in Munich. However, I got the chance to dive into Geophysics as part of the Glaciology group of Prof. Mantelli, focusing on the analysis of seismic data from the Grenzgletscher in Switzerland.

Research Interests

I am working on data collected at the Grenzglacier in Switzerland, which undergoes a transition from frozen to temperate conditions at its base and can therefore be used as a proxy for large polar ice streams. By examining active and passive seismic reflections and refractions, information on the geometry of englacial layers and the underlying base can be obtained as part of the ERC project PHAST. This is part of a larger geophysical investigation of the Grenzgletscher, which employs multi-frequency GPR and other techniques to identify ideal borehole positions for studying the physics of sliding at basal thermal transitions, a primary goal of the PHAST project.
