Energetic Electron Dynamics in Geospace

Our research investigates the dynamics of energetic electrons in Earth's magnetosphere, focusing on how these particles are energized in the plasma sheet and transported into the ring current and radiation belts. By analyzing satellite data and using machine learning techniques, we build empirical models to understand how solar wind activity controls energetic electron populations. We integrate these results into the VERB-4D physical model to simulate how electron precipitation affects the ionosphere and thermosphere, ultimately improving our understanding of space weather.
