Prof. Jale Tosun is new Chair of the IRS Scientific Advirosy Board

She succeeds Porf. Johannes Glückler, who has held the chairmanship since 2021.

Professor Jale Tosun from the University of Heidelberg has been elected as the new chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space (IRS). She succeeds Prof. Johannes Glückler, who has held the position since 2021. Glückler and Dariusz Wójcik, Professor of Financial Geography at the National University of Singapore, are stepping down from the board. Tosun’s deputy will be Karsten Zimmermann from the Technical University of Dortmund. The board welcomes two new members, Astrid Eckert (Emory University) and Koen Frenken (Utrecht University). During their four-year term, the focus will be on developing a new research program for 2025 and the evaluation of the IRS in 2027.
