The exchanges between Chinese and German researchers under the FReCom framework have led to new research discoveries. Recently, these new findings were published in in Sustainable Cities and Society and Environmental Impact Assessment Review.
In the two articles, the FReCom colleagues utilized methods such as meta-analysis and spatiotemporal big data modeling to depict the spatiotemporal patterns of flood risk changes in rapidly growing urban areas. They proposed planning strategies for infrastructure to mitigate flood risk and achieved a series of scientific advancements in urban flood risk management research.
