Producing fewer greenhouse gases is the most important measure to combat climate change. But this alone is no longer enough: If global warming is to be limited to well below 2°C, humans must actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it over a long period of time. Is it enough to plant more trees? Can CO2 be stored in rock powder? Can we rely on CO2 filter systems? And where do we store the CO2 in the end? At the fully booked event on May 3, 2024, chair holder Prof. Dr Julia Pongratz answered all of the young participants' questions about how the active removal of CO2 from the atmosphere works.
