24.09.2024 - 25.09.2024: FReCom workshop will take place in Beijing

The FReCom project, funded under the Sino-German Mobility Programme, will host a workshop on ‘Risk Management and Resilience Education for Sustainable Development’ on 24 and 25 September 2024. The workshop will be based on the collaboration between LMU Munich and the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and will invite external experts from other universities in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China to participate.
It is an interdisciplinary workshop covering several topics such as urban resilience to natural disasters, agricultural risk management for climate-related disasters, nature-based and nature-related approaches to risk management, and resource and energy engineering for regional growth.
The workshop is expected to have 50 to 60 participants. A delegation of researchers from the Department of Geography at LMU Munich will travel to Beijing and present their research findings.
