TUM Sustainability Day 2026: Innovations for a Sustainable Future

7 Apr 2026

On April 29, TUM hosts Sustainability Day: over 180 initiatives showcase practical solutions and make sustainability tangible.

On April 29, 2026, the Technical University of Munich will host its next Sustainability Day at the Garching campus. Designed as a “Sustainability Festival,” the event offers a diverse program that informs, inspires, and invites active participation.

At its core, sustainability is presented as a key technological and societal transformation challenge. Participants from research, teaching, the student body, administration, and industry will showcase concrete solutions for the society of tomorrow—from initial ideas to real-world implementation.

A central feature is the “Market of Opportunities,” where numerous initiatives make innovative approaches tangible, covering topics such as renewable energy, biodiversity, and sustainable energy systems.

The Sustainability Day also serves as a platform for exchange and networking, bringing together academia, industry, and society to foster dialogue on sustainable development. A special focus is placed on young talents and international participants who contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.

The program is complemented by an international competition in which interdisciplinary teams develop solutions to key sustainability challenges such as sustainable energy, adaptation, and resilience. The final round will take place during the event.
