Postdoc Support Fund (PSF)

Im Rahmen des Postdoc Support Fund stehen Mittel für die flexible und fachbezogene Nachwuchsförderung im Postdoc-Bereich zur Verfügung, insbesondere für die Bereiche internationale Rekrutierung, Vereinbarkeit von Wissenschaft und Familie bei der Weiterführung wissenschaftlicher Tätigkeit – etwa nach Eltern- oder Pflegezeiten (Re-entry Funding) – , Vernetzung sowie Open Access Publikationen.

Anträge können an der Fakultät für Geowissenschaften in folgenden Bereichen gestellt werden:

1. Project-StartUp (Unterstützung bei z.B. Anschaffung spezieller Geräte/Ausrüstung - keine Grundausstattung)
2. Internationalisierung outgoing (Übernahme von eigenen Reisekosten)
3. Internationalisierung incoming (Übernahme der Reisekosten von Gästen)
4. Re-Entry (Unterstützung nach Elternzeit oder Betreuung von Angehörigen)
5. OpenAccess (Unterstützung bei Publikationskosten)

Please read the instructions carefully and double-check your proposals before submitting as we will not perform formal checks for eligibility. As such, select the boxes you tick carefully and submit complete proposals.

In short, you are eligible to apply for funding if you
1a) are employed (non-permanent contract) at the faculty 20 of LMU, or
1b) have a stipend (e.g. AvH, DAAD) but a direct working relationship with “us”, and
2) plan scientific activities that are concluded before 31 December 2024.

Note: Every proposal must have a break-down of the applied sum. Because of the number of applications for funding for attending scientific conferences and the substantial difference in the applied sum (between proposals from different colleagues planning to attend the same conference), the following flat rates are valid for conference attendance (“Travel (outgoing)”):
- 1.000,- € for travel inside Europe,
- 1.500,- € for all other conferences.
We are expecting that you will submit an abstract for oral/poster presentation for the conference you are asking for funding for.
