In the GeoMediaLab, lecturers in the department can record videos using professional technical equipment. Equipped with a green screen background, users can, for example, incorporate slide sets into the video and thus make their teaching even clearer and more varied. The GeoMediaLab offers the option of an inverted classroom, where students are provided with the teaching content as a video and the time in the lecture hall can be used to consolidate the content and for discussions. Individual lectures can also be recorded, e.g. to convey the content of a lesson despite scheduling conflicts.
Thanks to plug-and-play, the set-up is user-friendly and can be operated easily and conveniently with just a few buttons. All you need to do is connect a laptop and bring your set of slides. Recording can begin immediately. Equipped with a large interactive screen, the GeoMediaLab also offers space for 10 people to take part in digital conferences. The Geo Media Lab is available to all geography lecturers.
Find the booking plan here. Please send us an email at eggroup@geographie.uni-muenchen.deif you would like to use the GeoMediaLab, including information on date, time and estimated duration, as well as the purpose of the booking and if you have already had an introduction to the room. Please note that (video) recordings have priority over meetings.
- Divide longer recordings (e.g. lectures) into several smaller sections (20 to 30 minutes).
- Use an aspect ratio of 16:9 to make optimum use of the available screen space.
- Think about which configuration you want to use for which slide before recording.
- Do not wear a green top or one with text/logo printed on it, as the green screen means that these areas will not be displayed in the video or will be mirrored.
