Prof Dr Thomas Kox will hold the Chair of Science Communication and Climate Education at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) in the summer semester 2024. Thomas Kox studied geography with a minor in political science and sociology at the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (diploma), at University College Cork and at the University of Potsdam (doctorate). From 2011 to 2019 he worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin (FUB) and from 2019 to 2023 at the LMU. He focuses on the perception and management of uncertainty, disaster and civil protection practices, weather impacts, warnings and citizen science.
