I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Geography from the University of Tübingen and a doctoral degree in Climate Science from ETH Zurich. During my doctoral research, I investigated the socio-economic impacts of climate extremes, including droughts, floods, and heavy precipitation, with a particular focus on spatially compounding climate extremes—the simultaneous occurrence of climate extremes at different locations that affect similar sectors, such as agricultural production in major breadbasket regions.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at LMU, where I investigate future land-use fluxes in a changing climate, with a particular focus on how environmental changes and climate-related disturbances influence future land-use dynamics and greenhouse gas fluxes.
In addition, I serve as a Scientific Associate to the German Council of Climate Change Experts, supporting the Council in assessing historical and future greenhouse gas emissions from the land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) and agricultural sectors.
