On December 12, a workshop entitled “Quantifying Flood Vulnerability under Future Socioeconomic Pathways in Huế City” was held at the International School, Hue University, as part of the FloodAdaptVN project. The fieldwork and workshop activities were led by Bien Thanh Vu, a PhD student involved in the project.

The workshop focused on translating qualitative flood vulnerability scenarios developed in Vu et al. (2025) into quantitative flood vulnerability scenarios using a Bayesian Network modelling approach. The study builds on recently published research in Global Environmental Change (Vu et al., 2025):

Through expert-based causal mapping, participants identified key direct and indirect relationships shaping flood vulnerability in the Huế context, with particular attention to health, livelihoods, transport, and water-related risks. In addition to the modelling component, the workshop facilitated discussions on how flood vulnerability scenarios could be integrated into Huế’s urban planning and development processes, generating valuable insights from local government representatives.

The workshop contributes to ongoing efforts under the FloodAdaptVN project to bridge scenario-based research and decision-making in flood-prone urban environments.
