According to a recent international publication analysis by Claviate, the scientist ranks among the most successful in her field.
In the current evaluation by the analytics company Clarivate, a total of 17 researchers from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) have been named among the Highly Cited Researchers 2025 — including Prof. Dr. Julia Pongratz, Chair of Physical Geography and Land Use Systems.
The list of Highly Cited Researchers includes more than 6,800 scientists worldwide whose publications between 2014 and 2024 rank among the top one percent most cited in their respective fields.
The frequency of citations reflects which studies are considered particularly relevant by the scientific community and is therefore regarded as an important indicator of research quality and impact.
For LMU, this recognition sends a strong signal: “We are extremely proud that many outstanding researchers at LMU are among Clarivate’s renowned Highly Cited Researchers,” said LMU President Matthias H. Tschöp.
