Wissenschaftler
British volcanologist born in Royal Leamington Spa, UK, I hold an MGeol (Integrated BSc & MSc) in Geology (2015) from the University of Plymouth (UK) and a Ph.D. in Volcanology & Magmatic Processes (2019) from the University of Liverpool (UK). I have held roles as Laboratory Technician (2018), Research Assistant (2019), and Lecturer in Geology (2019–2020) at the University of Liverpool (UK); Postdoctoral Research Associate (2020–2022) and FNRS Senior Research Fellow/Chargé de Recherches (2022–2023) at the Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). In 2023 I joined LMU-Munich as Akademischer Rat.
Internal
As a volcanologist and experimental petrologist, my research specialises in understanding magma ascent dynamics, conduit processes, and rheology from crystal- and bubble-scale textures to edifice-scale eruptive behaviour. My work integrates laboratory experiments (petrological and rheological), extensive microanalytical techniques, and field studies across the East African Rift, Central America, Europe, and Japan. I have led and contributed to multi-institutional projects on silicic magmatism and hazard assessment and have experience establishing and operating high-temperature, high-pressure experimental rigs to unravel how magma plumbing systems evolve over time.
